A Fabric Cover for a Small Treasure
Wrap a small everyday object in fabric and explore neat folds without knots.

Time: 15–25 minutes
Use a soft fabric square and a small, lightweight box or book already at hand. No sewing, adhesive, or cutting is required.
What you need
- fabric
- found objects
Try this idea
- Place the object diagonally in the middle of the fabric.
- Fold the bottom corner over it, then fold the side corners inward like an envelope.
- Fold the remaining corner down and tuck its end under an earlier fold if it reaches. Loose folds are fine.
- Turn the bundle gently to inspect it, then unwrap it when you like.
A smaller version
Fold fabric over the object once and compare the covered and uncovered shapes.
A good place to stop
One wrapped object is enough, even if the last fold stays loose.
Make it work for you
Use a larger fabric square and a light object. Skip tucking if pinching is uncomfortable.
Another way in
Use a different object and see how its proportions change the folds.
