Make it

Choose a small surface with one lightweight object you can easily move. This is a composition experiment, not a room-cleaning task.

  1. 1

Look at one small area, such as a corner of a table, and notice where your eyes land.

  2. 2

Slide one lightweight object slightly to one side, or move it to another suitable spot nearby.

  3. 3

Look again. Keep the new arrangement or put it back; either choice completes the experiment.

Short on energy? Imagine moving the object without touching it.

A good place to stop: One considered change is enough.

Make it work for you: Use only an object that is easy to reach and move. If reaching is uncomfortable, direct the change in your imagination.

Another route: Try changing the direction an object faces instead of moving it away.
