Make it
Choose a small floor area away from walkways and soft fabric pieces you already have. This version involves bending or kneeling and putting materials away afterward.
- 1
Clear a suitable small patch and place your fabric beside it, keeping walking routes open.
- 2
Lay the fabric into one long curve or angular line, moving around the outside of the arrangement.
- 3
Change one section and look at how the whole composition shifts. Photograph it only if you want to.
- 4
Pick up all the fabric and restore the floor before leaving the area.
Short on energy? Arrange one piece into a simple curve, then put it away.
A good place to stop: One line and one deliberate adjustment complete the drawing.
Make it work for you: If floor access is uncomfortable, do a tabletop version seated instead; the standard floor version is tagged for moderate effort and is not seated-friendly.
Another route: Use two parallel lines and explore the space between them.
