Sunlight shines through a narrow gap between lavender, teal, and cream books, suggesting a tiny doorway. A phone on a wooden stand frames the gap in its camera view.

Make it

A cupboard edge, patch of light, or space between books can become a doorway. Stay in a comfortable spot.

  1. 1

Look for a door-like shape within easy view. Keep the objects where they are.

  2. 2

Use your camera to frame just the shape and a little of its surroundings. Take one photograph.

  3. 3

Give the place beyond it a name and imagine who might open the door.

Short on energy? Frame the doorway on screen without taking a photo.

A good place to stop: One photograph with an imagined destination completes the activity.

Make it work for you: Support the device on a stable surface and use a timer or voice shutter if available. You can simply imagine the framing.

Another route: Turn the same shape into a window looking out from another world.
